Simple Christmas Tablescape with Gold Bells and Greenery

This tablescape was very easy to put together and I love the classic look of the greenery paired with the elegance of the large gold bells, brass candlesticks and gold flatware.

It would be perfect for any holiday season dinner party including your Christmas dinner.

I love entertaining and creating beautiful tablescapes for my dinner parties.

The extra touches that you add when you’re hosting make your guests feel welcome and important.

When the weather permits, I like to set the dinner table on my back patio. We have a fireplace out there, and we can light the fire to add more ambiance to the dinner party.

Candles on the table are another way to add a touch of magic to your event.

gold bells and greenery christmas centerpiece

For my Christmas table centerpiece, I used a linen table runner that I received from Solino Home down the center of my dining table.

I chose a white and natural stripe table runner from their Amalfi collection and added a faux greenery garland down the center of the table.

I’m not typically a fan of faux greenery, but I have been so pleased with the look of this faux greenery garland, that I ordered several to use on my staircase this year.

However, to add a bit more texture to my centerpiece, I cut cedar branches from a neighbor’s tree and tucked a few stems in with the faux garland.

The fresh greenery is a great way to add a beautiful layer to the centerpiece garland and it smells amazing.

Next, I placed several gold candlesticks with ivory taper candles down the center of the table.

And lastly, these large gold bells that I purchased recently were the perfect finishing touch to my centerpiece. The bells come in a set of 3, and I purchased 2 sets.

I also added a few smaller gold bells that were Christmas ornaments I picked up at the local craft store.

The placemats I used were also Solino Home from the French Stripe collection.

White dinner plates from my collection of thrifted plates were topped with a small faux greenery wreath.

Beautiful linen napkins from the Solino Home Fringe collection were perfect for my classic green and gold place setting.

I folded the napkins to a point and placed them between the small wreaths and the dinner plate.

A white salad plate with gold rim was placed on top of the wreath.

And, the gold flatware I purchased several months ago at an antique store worked beautifully for this tablescape.

The final touch to my place settings were the gold jingle bells tied with a gold velvet ribbon.

I wrote the name of each guest on a place card and tucked it inside the gold bell.

It made the perfect place card holder and was a beautiful finishing touch to this classic tablescape.

extra touches for a tablescape

I received an over the table bar as a Christmas gift last year and I love it!

It makes such a huge statement for any theme of tablescape.

For this Christmas tablescape, I hung more of the faux garland to cover the bar.

Then I added a strand of gold bell garland and finished it off with a strand of white lights.

I didn’t like the look of the green cord showing, so before I hung the lights, I removed the lightbulbs and spray painted the cord a matte gold.

Then, I added the lightbulbs back in, and strung the lights along the bar with the greenery garland and bell garland.

The lights over the table look so magical and especially at night.

The over the table rod is so easy to install. It just clamps on the ends of the table, and you can tighten it to fit the thickness of your table.

The length is adjustable, so it works on most table lengths.

simple ideas for Christmas table decorations

You can adapt this tablescape that I’ve shared to any color scheme buy changing the color of table runner, placemat or napkin.

Also, adding red velvet ribbons to the brass bell on the plates would be a very festive touch in a traditional Christmas color.

Magnolia leaves would be a beautiful addition to a holiday celebration table centerpiece.

You could also use a magnolia leaf as a place card holder by writing the name of the guest on a leaf with a gold paint pen and placing it on each place setting.

Pine branches, cedar branches or just about any type of fresh greenery are an inexpensive way to create a beautiful centerpiece, like this Christmas tablescape I created last year.

Spray painting pine cones gold would add an elegant touch and be an inexpensive way to add gold accents.

Putting candy canes on each plate would be cute and add a festive touch.

a few ways to make your guests feel welcome

Greet your guests at the door with a specialty drink reflecting the occasion.

Have lamps on and candles lit inside your home.

Play soft background music to create a nice ambiance.

Light the fire if you have a fireplace and weather permits.

Make sure your home smells amazing, by either lighting scented candles or turning on your diffuser with a wonderful scented oil.

Set a beautiful table for your dinner party. It will make your guests feel as though you have gone to a lot of trouble, just for them.
