If you are new here, welcome!! And if you have been around a while, I’m so happy you are here and I truly appreciate you!

This bread is SO delicious with soups and stews during the winter months, and it makes amazing toast.

It takes like delicious yeast bread without going to the trouble of waiting for the bread to rise, kneading, waiting for it to rise again and so on.

I love to slather it with butter and sprinkle a little rosemary salt on it.

But it’s also amazing with apricot preserves, lemon curd, and I could keep going, but you get the idea.

It makes a wonderful gift for friends and neighbors. I like to make it in mini loaves, wrap it in parchment paper, tie with a ribbon and tuck in a sprig of herbs.

ingredients for beer bread

3 cups self rising flour
1/4 cup sugar
1 bottle/can beer (it doesn’t really matter what kind. I typically use Dos Equis, Corona or Shiner)
3 tablespoons melted butter

directions for making delicious beer bread

Mix together flour, sugar and beer until well blended. I mix mine in my stand mixer, but certainly you can do it my hand or with a hand mixer.

Grease you loaf pan and pour batter in, distibuting it evenly.

I like to add about 3-4 tablespoons melted butter on top of the batter before I bake. This step is totally optional. It is delicious either way!

Bake at 350 degrees for 50-60 minutes, depending on your oven.

Let cool and enjoy!!

I typically make mine in a metal loaf pan. Full size if it is for my family or if I am entertaining. But, as I mentioned earlier I make in mini loaf pans occasionally, to give as gifts.

This past Christmas my sister in law gave me this white ceramic tea loaf pan, so I’ve been using that recently. I love the long an narrow shape of it.

Unfortunately, that particular pan isn’t available currently, but I have linked several that are a similar size, at the bottom of this post.
