Easy and Delicious 3 Ingredient Tomato Soup
I love a good recipe that is super easy to make! And this soup recipe does not dissapoint! Let me share a secret about how to make this easy and delicious 3 ingredient tomato soup.
First of all, let me say that I love a good tomato soup and I am pretty picky about it.
When my friend shared this recipe with me last year, I have to admit, I was a bit skeptical. But, I decided to give it a try.
Oh my goodness!!! It is the best tomato soup and you won’t believe how easy it is!!
ingredients for tomato soup
1 – 24 ounce jar marinara sauce (brand doesn’t really matter)
1 – 16 ounce jar alfredo sauce (brand doesn’t matter)
1 – 14 ounce can chicken broth
directions for making tomato soup
Pour all ingredients into soup pot, mix together and simmer until hot.
And that’s it!!!! See, I told you it was SUPER easy!
Pour into bowls and enjoy.
additions to 3 ingredient tomato soup
If you want to take this already amazing soup to the next level, here are a couple of things I like to serve with it…
basil pesto
Drizzle the top with basil pesto.
I like to make my own basil pesto when I have fresh basil in the garden. (Recipe of that coming soon)
If you don’t make your own, you can certainly use store bought pesto. You can find jars of pesto with the italian foods/pastas/sauces in the grocery store.
Typically, the pesto will be thick, so I like to take about a teaspoon and add olive oil to make a more liquidy consistency.
Then, just pour a little over each individual bowl of soup.
Delicious!!!!
homemade croutons
Do you ever have bread laying around that is past it’s prime?
It’s getting stale and hard and needs to be thrown out.
Before you toss it, cut it into cubes, wrap in plastic wrap and store in a freezer bag in your freezer.
Sourdough and french bread work great for this.
Thaw it out when you’re ready to make homemade croutons.
Take the plastic wrap off and use the freezer bag. Add about 1/4 cup olive oil and a teaspoon of garlic salt. Obviously, this depends on how much cubed bread you have. This amount would probably cover about 2 cups of bread cubes.
Close your bag and shake well to coat the bread.
Pour the bread cubes out on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Bake for about 15 minutes on 350 degrees or until lightly browned. I usually stir them around once during the baking time.
easy and delicious 3 ingredient tomato soup
I still can’t even believe how easy and delicious this soup is! And the basil pesto and homemade croutons make it even better.
Another thing I love about this recipe is you can keep all 3 of these ingredients on hand to make last minute.
It’s also super yummy served with a grilled cheese sandwich or a salad. I like to make this harvest salad to serve with it sometime.
It makes a delicious lunch or a quick weeknight dinner.
If you need to take dinner to a friend or family member, this soup is perfect. Pour it into a large mason jar, tie with a ribbon and add a card.
Bag up some of the homemade croutons and put a little of the basil pesto in a small jar to go with it.
You could also bake a loaf of this easy beer bread (also 3 ingredients) to deliver with your soup! The recipient will love you for this!!
I hope you enjoyed this easy and delicious 3 ingredient tomato soup recipe! I would love to know if you try it.

Well Michelle made the tomato soup and beer bread recipes yesterday. Hubby and I didn’t care for the soup. When serving for lunch he even put some rice in it thinking it might help, but didn’t make a difference. We’ve never eaten anything using alfredo sauce so don’t know if that was it or not? (He’s a dietician and does the cooking, and I’m the baker!) He was more receptive to the bread than me. Both were easy to make which had great appeal. The bread had beautiful coloring inside the pan and a pale color on top. Hubby put jelly on the bread. Would be interested in knowing what your readers say for those who have made this………
Thanks so much for the feedback. I appreciate you trying it and letting me know.

Literally the best and easiest soup I have ever tried. I work in a restaurant and we frequently have soup contest between all the cooks to get our soup on the menu, the boss would never let us d o tomato, said it yeast too plain. I saw this recipe and made it for him to try and it isn’t just going to be a soup in our rotation it is going to be an everyday soup ! He loved it and so do all the customers! Plus I won forever!
Oh wow, that is awesome!! So glad you know you all loved it so much. Thanks so much for letting me know!
