Merry Christmas Eve Eve friends!
I really can’t believe that tomorrow is Christmas Eve.
This holiday season has passed way too quickly for my liking. I’m not sure what happened, but I feel like it was a blur.
I have promised myself to have a better organized plan for next year, so I can be done decorating and shopping much earlier than usual so I can fully enjoy the last few weeks of the holiday season.
If you are new here, welcome.
Saturday Morning Gather is my weekly newsletter where I share what is going on at Vintage Home and also share inspiration and things I have found during the week that I think you might enjoy.
If you’ve been around a while, as always, I am so grateful to you! I truly appreciate you showing up and continuing to support my blog.
Gather round and grab your coffee or favorite morning drink of choice and let’s take a look at what’s been happening this week.
The Reason for the Season
But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good tidings of great joy that will be for all the people. Today, in the city of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord.”
Luke 2:10-11
on the blog….
Last week was my monthly dinner club party and we hosted a charcuterie board get together for the holidays.
I made a cute clock face charcuterie board a couple of year’s ago for a New Year’s Eve party and shared that with you last week, as well.
And these mini cheese balls are so easy to make and are a great addition to any charcuterie or snack board. You can see I used them as a border on my clock charcuterie board above.
in other random news…
For the first time in my adult life, my home didn’t get decorated for Christmas!!
I tied a ribbon on a boxwood wreath I bought in the fall, hung a wreath on the front door that was gifted by Lynch Creek Farms, and at the last minute put up my tree that I received from King of Christmas last year.
The KOC tree is so easy to put together. It is 3 pieces that easily snap together, plug it in and that’s it. About 1 week ago, I couldn’t stand it anymore, so I put the tree together so we would at least have a tree with lights to enjoy.
Oh, and I did decorate this bottle drying rack with some ironstone teacups and small pitchers.
I used this piece as display in my store years ago, and just couldn’t part with it when I closed the shop.
It’s been in storage for several years, because I couldn’t figure out a place to use it in my home.
Earlier this year, I thought about using it as a Christmas tree, so I have anxiously awaited the holiday season so I could finally use it.
I picked up a few teacups and pitchers at thrift stores to add with some I already had so I could cover the tree with white ironstone pieces.
I wrapped it with white lights and finished it off by adding a lid from a soup tureen to the top.

Thanks so much, and I hope you had a wonderful Christmas with family! I really appreciate the kind words and I’m so glad you enjoy the blog.
I, too, cannot believe how fast Christmas has arrived this year. The older I get, the faster the time goes by. You will be thankful now that Christmas is here, and you won’t have all the decorations to put away. I love the beautiful and simplistic decorating you did. It’s just perfect. And a big thank you for sharing my granola recipe today. Merry Christmas my friend.
I hope you had a wonderful Christmas with your family Wendy!!
Considering you didn’t decorate your home for Christmas – the last minute things you did do made your home a very festive environment. Your home is beautiful as always. Wishing you a Happy New Year!!
Thanks so much for the kind words Anna! I hope you had a wonderful holiday and 2024 is off to a good start for you.
