An Easy Coastal or Tropical Napkin Ring DIY
In honor of summer parties and my dinner club theme this month, I decided to try and make a fun addition to my place settings. Let me show you an easy coastal or tropical napkin ring DIY.
As I mentioned this was made specifically for my dinner club this month which is an Hawaiian luau party theme.
But this easy napkin ring DIY would be great for any beach, coastal, tropical or luau themed party.
Not to mention that it is super inexpensive, so it would be perfect if you have a large guest list.
What about a coastal themed wedding??
supplies for a coastal napkin ring
You will need…
a glue gun
empty toilet paper roll (or paper towel roll)
some rope or twine
small seashells (these are easily found at dollar stores or craft stores very inexpensively)
directions for napkin ring DIY
First, you will need to cut your toilet paper roll into thirds.
You can certainly adjust the size if you prefer a more narrow or even a wider napkin ring.
Start by running a bit of glue around the top of the cut piece of your napkin ring base.
Leaving about a 3″ tail start laying the rope down in the hot glue.
Continue adding glue and wrapping the rope around the roll.
Be sure and push each strand close to the one before it, so the toilet paper roll doesn’t show.
When you have completely covered the roll, cut the rope leaving about a 3″ tail.
You will want to end your rope about the same place on the roll that you started, so that they line up.
Next, tie the 2 ends of rope together, then knot them.
Unravel and fray the loose ends.
Add a small dot of hot glue to the knot and attach a small seashell.
And that’s it!!!
Super easy and so cute for your coastal, or tropical themed party.
