My goodness, I can’t believe it’s already June!
Texas is on preheat already, and soon we’ll see scorching temps. I am NOT a fan of the heat, and I love being outside, especially for dining, so I’m soaking up every minute while I can.
If you are new here, welcome.
Saturday Morning Gather is my weekly newsletter where I share what is going on at Vintage Home and also share inspiration and things I have found during the week that I think you might enjoy.
If you’ve been around a while, as always, I am so grateful to you! I truly appreciate you showing up and continuing to support my blog.
Gather round and grab your coffee or favorite morning drink of choice and let’s take a look at what’s been happening this week.
Since summer officially begins in just a couple of weeks, I’m sharing all things summer today!
on the blog….
I’ve been so behind trying to get ready to leave town and because of the holiday weekend, that I didn’t share anything new on the blog this week.
However, we did host another Fabulous Friday Link Party, and you can see that here.
You can find lots of inspiration all in one place every Friday at our link parties.
And since it’s peach season, I have some great ideas for fresh peaches….
in other random news…
My mom and I take a mother/daughter trip every year. Typically in May, but this year due to date conflicts, we are going this weekend.
So, as you read this, I will be in Round Top, Texas. If you’re not familiar with Round Top, it is home to one of the largest antique festivals
Every year the Round Top Antiques show takes place in the spring and again in the fall.
Over 100,000 people visit the show in this small town that has a population of 90.
Several years ago, my husband and I decided to try out Round Top when there wasn’t a show going on, and much to our surprise, there was plenty to do even though the antiques festival wasn’t going on.
So, last year, my mom and decided to take our trip there. We really enjoyed it and thought we would give it a try again this year.
There are some really great restaurants, a cute wine bar and we stay at an adorable Airbnb called The Vintage Round Top.
We’ll be antiquing, thrifting, hunting for treasures and eating our way across Texas. Well, at least from Dallas to Round Top.
We stopped for an overnight in Waco, Texas last time, and this year we’re changing it up and doing an overnight in Georgetown, Texas.
I was there recently with some friends, and there were some great thrift stores, antique shops and the cutest place for lunch called Sweet Lemon.
I can’t wait to share with you next week what treasures I find!!
and some other amazing things I found….
a yummy recipe for lemon zucchini bread…
this amazing recipe for Peach Bourbon Jam…
and I can’t wait to make this beautiful lavender sugar….
a simple idea for making book pages look aged…
and these watermelon popsicles look not only refreshing, but beautiful…
just ordered this fun Kaftan dress for summer….
and I love making decorative frozen ice buckets, and this will make them so easy …
I hope you found some inspiration at our Saturday Morning Gather today!

Hope you and Suzanne have a wonderful trip! I visit my sister, Lynn, who lives in Riesel just east of Waco, twice a year. We love to spend time in Round Top.
Be save and enjoy!
Love you!
Carrie aka Punkin 😁
Oh, we had a great time! I didn’t realize Lynn lived outside of Waco. We love to visit there too. Hope you are doing well, and thanks so much for following along and commenting!
Hi Michele! Thank you so much for sharing my lemon zucchini bread recipe! I hope you are enjoying your weekend <3
I had a friend drop off a ton of zucchini from her garden yesterday, so I am going to try your recipe today!
Stop by on your way home if you have time! We’ll be around.
We actually went to Round Top this time, but stopped off in Georgetown instead of Waco on the way. I loved the little Sweet Lemon restaurant so much and knew mom would enjoy it.
I’m so excited about your trip to Round Top, Michele! It’s been on my bucket list for ages and I can’t wait to hear all about it. Thank you so much for sharing my post on how to make book pages look aged. I really appreciate it! Big hugs and happy traveling, CoCo
