How to fold a napkin into an envelope

I used this idea on my Galentine’s Brunch tablescape recently and want to show you how to fold a napkin into an envelope shape.

It’s super easy, and makes a fun addition to your place setting.

directions for envelope napkin fold

You will need a square napkin in whatever color you choose.

Start by laying your napkin out with a point at the top. Then fold about 1/3 of your napkin toward the center.

Then fold the other side in.

If the point of this side sticks out, just fold it back a bit.

Next, you will begin folding up from the bottom. Fold about 1/4 of the length for the first fold.

Then fold another time,

Fold one last time, making sure you are folding about the same amount with each fold.

To finish your “envelope”, fold the flap over the top.

And, that’s it! Super easy and cute!

To finish it off, I added a wooden heart cutout for my Valentine’s tablescape.

One – unrelated (sort of) – question: Somewhere on your site I saw a white wool (?) heart and I think you mentioned you found it at Walmart? Was that recently? Looked at one nearby Walmart and didn’t see them (bummer).

    1. Thanks Kim! And did you get the link I sent for the white felt hearts?
